6 Government initiatives in 2019 that boosted cybersecurity

Cybersecurity is becoming a growing concern for individuals, organizations, and the government. Government agencies around the world are taking various steps to build a better online ecosystem. Let’s look at a few government initiatives against cybersecurity that came to the spotlight this year. Ghidra, a reverse engineering cybersecurity tool developed by the National Security Agency (NSA) was made available to the public. It lets researchers analyze malware and is available for multiple platforms. An AI-powered chatbot called ‘Sam’ was launched on three USA.gov webpages in February 2019. The chatbot that answers users’ questions on scams and frauds, was reported to have 4,000 users in a month. The Department of Financial Services announced the formation of a new cybersecurity unit in New York. This unit aims at protecting consumers and organizations from cyber attacks.
