BlackCloak Unveils New Deception Technology to Catch Cyberattacks Targeting Executives & High-Profile Individuals

BlackCloak | November 16, 2021

BlackCloak
BlackCloak, Inc., the first Concierge Cybersecurity & Privacy™ Protection Platform for Executives and High-Profile Individuals, today officially unveiled proprietary deception technology to catch adversaries' brazen attempts to exploit a member's privacy, personal devices, or home networks.

Commonly referred to as a honeypot, BlackCloak's deception technology lures attackers interacting with a service by simulating a real-world home network. Cybercriminals and advanced attackers will then be enticed by the potential data that appears within their reach. Once the attack is detected, BlackCloak's deception technology automatically alerts the company's Security Operations Center (SOC) to investigate and intervene before damage is done.

"Our members are increasingly exposed to sophisticated cyberattacks. Hackers are diversifying their preferred attack vectors beyond corporations and supply chain partners to include executives, high-net-worth individuals and high-profile individuals, many of whom have easily exploitable vulnerabilities in their personal digital lives,Advanced deception technology increases our ability to proactively detect, mitigate, and respond to threats before they manifest. It is the perfect complement to BlackCloak's other concierge cybersecurity and privacy services."

Dr. Chris Pierson, BlackCloak Founder & CEO

BlackCloak's deception engine, which has been live with existing customers since earlier this year, has already spotted suspicious activity within home environments. The leader in digital executive protection is the first cybersecurity and privacy company to deliver enterprise-grade honeypot technology to consumers.

"BlackCloak's design and implementation of deception technology into the personal lives of corporate executives further strengthens their concierge platform," said Bob Ackerman, Co-Founder of DataTribe. "The ability to know an adversary might be lurking inside the footprint of their digital home independent of other common controls is game changing."

BlackCloak is a leader in digital executive protection on a mission to protect digital lives. To do so, the company is engineering a holistic, SaaS-based cybersecurity & privacy platform with a concierge experience. BlackCloak works with real people to safeguard their personal and corporate reputation, finances, and information using technology that secures their homes, devices, and online presence. GTT Launches Secure Connect to Enhance Enterprise Cloud Security

GTT | March 23, 2022

GTT Communications, Inc., a leading global cloud networking provider to multinational clients, has announced its new Secure Connect offering to extend and strengthen the protection of the enterprise network connecting to the internet and accessed by users from any location. The new service is based on the SASE framework and integrates with GTT Managed SD-WAN. GTT Secure Connect leverages a single cloud platform for agile and ubiquitous delivery of network security, offering a range of features that include CASB (Cloud Access Security Broker), SWG (Secure Web Gateway), ZTNA (Zero Trust Network Access) and FWaaS (Firewall as a Service) capabilities. GTT Secure Connect addresses the growing requirement for secure access to enterprise resources in an environment characterized by the widespread use of digital technologies, broad adoption of cloud applications and a remote workforce. GTT Secure Connect utilizes a cloud delivery model that provides centralized policy control at a site and user level for improved scalability and extends the security perimeter to any network endpoint. Additionally, the integration of security with the functionality of GTT Managed SD-WAN improves performance and simplifies network management. The comprehensive SASE-based feature set can be tailored to meet individual enterprise requirements for anti-virus, firewall and anti-malware protections, more effective blocking of malicious sites, augmented cloud security monitoring, and prevention of unauthorized access to network resources in a work-from-anywhere model. With GTT Secure Connect, network access is based on user, device and application identity — rather than the physical location or IP address — enabling seamless and secure networking between users, private, SaaS and public clouds, and the enterprise data center. “In an enterprise environment where digital business and the use of cloud applications has become more critical, coupled with the challenge of supporting a hybrid workforce and an intensifying cyber-threat landscape, customers are demanding network integrated security solutions that are comprehensive with an improved user experience. GTT Secure Connect has been designed to meet these customer requirements, leveraging our industry-leading SD-WAN capability combined with state-of-the-art, cloud-based security technologies, delivering a more effective and efficient solution that provides next-generation connectivity and protection managed all in one place.” Don MacNeil, GTT COO According to industry research firm Omdia, only 15 percent of enterprises globally have a fully developed approach to cybersecurity and digital risk. Further research by the firm shows that when SD-WAN is combined with security, enterprises report an extra boost in perceived value over just SD-WAN. “Omdia finds securing networks a consistent area of enterprise concern and investment. Enterprise network transformation needs to address the complexity of securing internet VPNs, cloud applications and a remote workforce,” said Cindy Whelan, practice leader, enterprise network services at Omdia. “GTT’s new Secure Connect brings together network and security, supported by professional services, to help enterprises with their security and performance needs in a period of rapid digital transformation and an intensifying cyber-threat landscape.” The underlying technology platform of GTT Secure Connect is Prisma® Access provided by Palo Alto Networks, an industry leader in global cybersecurity. Symphony Technology Group Announces the Launch of Skyhigh Security

Skyhigh Security | March 22, 2022

Symphony Technology Group (“STG”), a leading Menlo Park-based private equity firm focused on the software, data, and analytics sectors, today announced the launch of Skyhigh Security. The new portfolio company was created to satisfy the growing cloud security requirements for large and small organizations. Skyhigh Security’s unique approach extends security beyond data access to securing how the data is used. Its data-aware Security Service Edge (SSE) is built to meet the needs of the modern workforce with security that follows the data and users wherever they are. Earlier this year, STG announced it would be splitting McAfee Enterprise into two organizations—Trellix and Skyhigh Security—to better focus on the very distinct markets of Extended Detection and Response (XDR) and the SSE. At that time STG also announced that Gee Rittenhouse, who previously led Cisco’s cyber security business, would serve as CEO of the SSE business, bringing deep cloud security expertise. “Skyhigh Security has emerged as a dedicated cloud security company that is laser-focused on propelling businesses forward with a comprehensive and converged approach to data security. We’re committed to investing in this business, which is in one of the most important markets in security, SSE.” William Chisholm, managing partner, STG “With the majority of data in the cloud and users accessing it from everywhere, a new approach to security is needed,” said Rittenhouse. “Skyhigh Security has created a comprehensive security platform to secure both data access and data use via unified policies and data awareness. Organizations can now have complete visibility and control and seamlessly monitor and mitigate security risks—achieving lower associated costs, driving greater efficiencies and keeping pace with the speed of innovation.” “Organizations are at a crossroads navigating the hybrid workforce,” said Frank Dickson, vice president, IDC. “While the ‘work from anywhere’ model creates flexibility and agility, it can also be a point of security vulnerability, challenging perimeters and endpoints and opening new attack surfaces in the cloud. These organizations need a best-in-class cloud-native solution that simplifies the implementation of cloud security to protect data regardless of where it lies.” “Protecting the way data is used is as important as the way data is accessed—we must implement a powerful data-centric defense to meet the demands of how work is conducted today,” said Dan Meacham, chief information security officer, Legendary Entertainment. “Skyhigh Security’s platform approach is completely integrated and simple to use. With over 10 years focus on cloud security, they are a pioneer in the SSE space. Skyhigh Security’s innovations have been validated both by analysts and customers alike. It is truly one of the most solid and unique SSE solutions in the market today.” The Skyhigh Security SSE Portfolio includes Secure Web Gateway (SWG), Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB), Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA), Cloud Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Remote Browser Isolation technology, Cloud Firewall and Cloud Native Application Protection Platform (CNAPP). The company was most recently named a Leader in the 2022 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Security Service Edge and recognized in the 2022 Critical Capabilities for SSE for its MVISION Unified Cloud Edge (UCE) solution. About Skyhigh Security: Skyhigh Security protects organizations with cloud-native security solutions that are both data-aware and simple to use. Its market-leading Security Service Edge (SSE) Portfolio goes beyond data access and focuses on data use, allowing organizations to collaborate from any device and from anywhere without sacrificing security.
