'Cyber security will open up new job avenues in IT'

The information technology slowdown has forced many tier II and tier III engineering colleges in the state to either reduce the number of seats in the course or scrap it completely. Experts in the industry, however, feel that there is always scope in the field of information technology, and will continue to have jobs as long as there is technology development.
At a time when most information technology and software engineering students aspire to make mobile applications, experts have pointed out job opportunities in the areas of cyber security. Speaking to the students at Industry Connect organized at Sri Eshwar College of Engineering here in the city, cyber security expert R Vittal Raj said, "We are all interested in making mobile applications, which is good. But almost every mobile application asks you for access to pictures, contacts, media etc. There is software available to hack mobile applications downloaded from the Android platform."
