Local cybersecurity pipeline in the works

There are a number of websites, hosted by companies with names like FireEye and Anubis Networks, where anyone can watch real-time cyber attacks crisscross the globe. The map provided by California-based Norse Corporation looks like the nuclear warhead detection system from the 1983 movie, “War Games.” An outline of the world’s borders appears on a black background as colored streams of light travel from one side of the earth to the other.Although many attacks are specific in nature, the ones shown on the maps are often random malicious probes sent out to poke at computer systems in search of a virtual porch door someone forgot to lock.
