Cyber Security and Transformational Technologies Keeping Systems and Data Safe

Federal IT professionals are facing an increasingly complex landscape of rapidly changing technology, presidential directives that affect priorities, constrained resources, and escalating cyber threats, according to the Lockheed Martin Cyber Security Alliance survey on IT issues conducted by Market Connections, Inc. The Obama Administration’s “Big Data Research and Development Initiative,” introduced in March 2012, calls on agencies to find ways to improve their extraction of knowledge and insights from large and complex collections of digital data. These insights can be applied to hugely complex problems—setting the stage for the White House’s release of its Digital Government Strategy (DGS) in May.

The Trellix Approach to Effective Cloud Security

whitePaper | October 27, 2022

In many ways, the cloud1 is more secure than a traditional data center. Asset management, inventory, audit logging, two-factor access controls, connectivity redundancy and firewalls are built into the cloud provider platform. Servers are easier to patch and won’t become outdated within a few years; there aren’t any forgotten boxes sitting in a dark corner with a note reading, “DO NOT TURN OFF.” However, assets on the cloud continue to be compromised, just as those stored in traditional data centers.

Aerospace cybersecuirty- Bringing a zero-trust approach to aviation product network design

whitePaper | May 18, 2022

Modern aerospace products are moving into containerization and micro-services. Mounting connected internal micro-services patterns in a product segregates and segments the network to support a zero-trust network security approach. Having weak internal network security of the product allows malicious actors to exploit them and elevate privileges — denying users access, jamming signals, or even shutting them down. Such interference could cause major harm to aircraft safety and operations.
